READFIELD - Barbara M. Hillier, 84, of Main Street,died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born in Bath on May 11, 1925, the daughter of Chester and Ellen (Lorentsen) King. \r\r\n\r\r\nBarbara graduated from Morse High School in Bath and, later, from the Portland School of Nursing. She had worked as a registered nurse at the Veterans Affairs Hospital at Togus and retired from Augusta General Hospital, now MaineGeneral Medical Center, in the mid-1970s. She was a member of Torsey Memorial United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe had many interests, including quilting, flower gardening, watching and feeding the birds, going to flea markets, bingo and antiquing. She was a registered dealer at Lakeside Antiques in East Winthrop. In her earlier years, Barbara was Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 450 in Readfield. She enjoyed eating lobsters and spending time with family and friends at their camp on Brighams Cove in Phippsburg. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gordon Hillier, of Readfield; two sons, Chester G. Hillier and his wife, Ginger, of Monmouth, and James E. Hillier and his wife, Debora, of Brunswick; a sister, Eleanor McKinnon, of Bath; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Kaitlin, Benjamin and Troy; also three nieces, Gloria, Donna and Phyllis. \r\r\n\r\r\nHer family would like to thank the staff of MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch for their fine care and friendship. \r\r\n\r\r\nMemorial contributions may be made to Torsey Memorial United Methodist Church, P.
