HALLOWELL - Bernice M. Blais, 89, of the Woodlands, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. She was born in Augusta on April 7, 1921, the daughter of Everett and Vada Gammon. Bernice grew up in Augusta and had worked as a bookkeeper at Russell McFarland Auto Sales in Augusta. In her younger years, she had worked in area shoe shops. She was predeceased by a two sons, William Roy Blais and Jeffrey Blais, and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Napolean 'Nappy' Blais and his wife Sue of Waldoboro; three daughters, Deborah G. Poulin and her husband Gerard of Augusta, Janet Blouin and her husband Henry of Augusta and Darlene Libby and her husband George of Bowdoinham; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29 at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St. Augusta, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Hallowell Cemetery, Hallowell.
