Belgrade ~ Constance “Connie” F. Keschl, 66, of Wings Mills Road, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends.\r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born in Elizabeth, NJ on March 31, 1949, the daughter of Michael P. and Helen (Pazahanich) Lokuta.\r\r\n\r\r\nConnie graduated from Union High School in Union, NJ, class of 1967, and later from Mansfield State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1970. On September 5, 1970, she married Dennis L. Keschl and had followed him to live in West Berlin, Germany during his military service there. In 1972, they returned to the United States where Connie was a stay at home mother for a while. She started teaching Adult Education Courses in Life Skills in Perth Amboy, NJ. \r\r\n\r\r\nFrom 1979 to 1980, the family lived in Wayne, ME and moved to Belgrade in 1980. Connie was a tireless advocate for Home Economics; she taught at Livermore Falls High School, Gardiner High School, KVCAP, Georges Valley High School, Brunswick High School, and finally retired from Livermore Falls Middle School in 2006. It was later that year that she and Dennis built their “Dream Home” on Campobello Island.\r\r\n\r\r\nConnie was active doing arts and crafts, quilting, scrapbooking, photographing flowers and lighthouses and traveling throughout the United States and abroad. She was a loving wife and devoted mother with a kind and gentle spirit, who loved all animals but had a special fondness for cats.\r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis L. Keschl of Belgrade; two sons, Dennis Kurt Keschl of Waterville and Thomas M. Keschl and his wife Jessica of Portland; two brothers, two nieces, and a nephew. She was excited to hear about her first grandchild to arrive in August and wanted so much to be able to see and care for her. Connie is also survived by her “grand-doggie” Raven and her feline companion Maui.\r\r\n\r\r\nVisiting will be held on Monday, March 28, from 6-8pm at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Tuesday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, on Western Ave in Augusta. Burial will occur in Pine Grove Cemetery, Belgrade on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.\r\r\n\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the S.O.S. Cat Shelter, P.O.
