AUGUSTA -- Donald I. Pushard, U.S. Air Force, retired, 74, of Riverside Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at the Maine Veterans' Home. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was born in Augusta on Feb. 10, 1937, the son of Roland and Barbara (Witherall) Pushard. \r\r\n\r\r\nDonald graduated from Cony High School, where he played baseball and basketball. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1954, was stationed at Tan Son Nhut air base during the Vietnam War, and retired in 1974 after 20 years of service. \r\r\n\r\r\nAfter his military retirement, he was employed at the Veterans Administration hospital at Togus for 27 years, again retiring in 2001. \r\r\n\r\r\nHis family meant everything to him. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In his younger years, he enjoyed going fishing. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Lorelei Pushard, on Oct. 14, 2010; and a grandson, Richard Fournier Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Leanne Fournier of Windsor, Wendy Annis of Pace, Fla., and Dawn Tobey of Vassalboro; a sister, Katherine Bean, of Yarmouth; a brother, Roland Pushard Jr., of West Gardiner; 10 grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Fournier, Angel Morris, Danielle and Ashley Annis, Kevin Boucher, Makayla, Joshua, Hannah and Grace Tobey; three great-grandchildren, Addi and Annabella Morris and Braxten Fournier; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. \r\r\n\r\r\nVisiting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, followed by a celebration of life at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be held in the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard P.
