AUGUSTA - Dorothy K. Pinette, 81, of Riverside Drive, went home to her loving Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a brief but aggressive-type illness. \r\r\n\r\r\nDottie lived her life in an extremely kind, generous and loving way. It's the life most would love for themselves. Dottie always put the needs of others ahead of herself and endeared many people by doing so. Her lists of charities were endless. \r\r\n\r\r\nDottie was born in Augusta in 1928, the middle child of William E. and Ivy S. Pinette. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe graduated from Cony High School in 1946 and began work for the state of Maine's Industrial Accident Commission. After seven years, she moved to Syracuse, N.Y., for a brief time with General Electric Co. before moving to the Washington, D.C., area to work for American Airlines as a reservationist. \r\r\n\r\r\nDottie worked for more than 30 years for the airlines until her retirement in 1986. She received many company awards for outstanding performance. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Elizabeth A. Pinette, formerly of Scarborough. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by a brother, William E. Pinette Jr. of Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nWe wish to thank all the doctors and nurses who worked so diligently and lovingly for Dottie at MaineGeneral Medical Center. You are in our prayers. \r\r\n\r\r\nVisitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will occur in the Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, if you wish, donate to your favorite charity in memory of Dottie. \r\r\n\r\r\nCondolences to the family may be sent to www.khrfuneral home.com.
