MANCHESTER - Elloween E. 'Pat' Piper, 78, of Benson Road left us to go home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born in Fairfield on Oct. 1, 1928, the daughter of John J. and Izetta S. (Sanderson) LaVoie. \r\r\n\r\r\nPat attended school in Fairfield before the family moved to Farmingdale. She was employed at R.P. Hazzard, E.E. Taylor, and Hallowell Shoe companies. \r\r\n\r\r\nPat had a kind and generous heart. She loved making quilts and giving them to her friends. She always had a garden full of cukes and tomatoes and enjoyed her two dogs and two cats. Most of all, Pat liked to travel with the Maine-A-Bagos of which she was a charter member and among the first organizers. She was also the oldest member. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by her loving mate, mentor and best friend of 53 years, Earle A. Kimball of Manchester; her children, Tony R. Piper of Augusta, Regina L. Waitt and her husband, Royal, of Wayne, Dalene Pelton and her husband, Daryl, of Wayne, Nancy L. Bonenfant of Manchester and Deane Kimball and his wife, Maureen, of Somerset, Mass.; a sister, Donna 'Mike' Soiett of West Gardiner; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\nAt Pat's request, there will be no public viewing. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Augusta. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the home of Roy and Regina Waitt on Walton Road in Wayne. \r\r\n\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 163 Lancaster St., Portland, ME 04101; or the American Heart Association, 343 Gorham Road, South Portland, ME 04106. \r\r\n\r\r\nArrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1 Church St., Augusta.
