Francis J Paglia Obituary (1932 - 2018)

AUGUSTA ~ Francis “Frank” J. Paglia died peacefully in Augusta on December 8th at the age of 86. He was born in Newton, Massachusetts, where he lived much of his life, to Cesidio and Amelia Paglia who had emigrated to the United States from San Donato, Italy. Frank’s status as a military veteran was a great source of pride for him. After serving in the United States Army in Korea during the war there, he spent his working life employed at Raytheon in Quincy, Massachusetts. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Delores and son Christopher, and brothers Tony and Daniel Paglia. “Uncle Frankie” is survived by his great-nephew Eric Paglia and family, as well as great-nieces Tanya Paglia, Nicole Paglia, Deanna Paglia and Khara Pittman, and Mark Paglia; and nephews Richard Paglia and Robert Paglia. His later years were greatly enriched by his companion Barbara Nichols of South Gardiner. The music of his namesake Frank Sinatra brought much joy to Frank, who always did it His Way. He will be interred at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street Augusta.
