Hal D. Stratton Sr. Obituary (1980

BELGRADE- Hal D. Stratton, Sr. 36 of Belgrade died unexpectedly on Friday, October 6th, 2017, while working in the woods with his father. He was born in Waterville on December 30th, 1980, the son of Hal and Amanda (Garland) Stratton. Hal graduated from Lawrence High, and he played baseball and football for the Police Athletic League. Following graduation, Hal worked for Bill’s Tire in Fairfield for several years, and later joined his father to work in the woods. Hal enjoyed visiting Tukey’s Beach and Shawn’s Camps on Great Pond in Belgrade. He also liked spending time with friends around a bonfire, and hunting. Hal is predeceased by his grandparents Paul and Barbara Stratton, a grandmother Joanne Willey, and “Nana” Norma Gean Garland. He is survived by his father Hal Stratton and his wife Gayle of Belgrade; his mother Amanda Stratton and her partner David Goudreau of Albion; his fianc Cathleana Trecartin of Belgrade; two daughters Harley Stratton and Angel Stratton; two sons Joseph Stratton and Hal Stratton Jr.; his grandfather Crowell Garland Sr. and his wife Ethel of Howland; three sisters Michelle Sylvester and her fianc Robert Nickerson of Old Orchard; Desiree Stratton and fianc Kent Kramer of Skowhegan; Danielle Stratton and fianc Christopher Varney of Belgrade; a stepbrother Curt Morse of Winslow; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to Amanda Stratton, P.O. Box 66, Albion ME. 04910, for education fund for his children.
