WINTHROP ? Henry V. 'Pete' Peterson Sr., 94, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Nicholson's Rehabilitation and Long Term Care after a five-year illness. He was born in Beverly, Mass., June 2, 1907, the son of Victor Knute and Frieda (Anderson) Peterson. He was educated in Beverly public schools, and was employed for 42 years by Binney and Smith, Inc. (Crayola), retiring in 1966. In 1929, he married Margaret W. Creeden, of Danvers, Mass., at St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Danvers. After retirement, they moved to Wilmont, N.H., then to Center Barnstead, N.H., to Clearmont, Fla., and finally moving to Maine in 1997. They entered Nicholson's together in July 1997. His beloved wife of 69 years died Nov. 9, 1998. He is survived by two sons, Henry 'Peter' V. Peterson Jr., and his wife, Joan, of Wayne, and Jan C. Peterson, and his wife, Sara, of Bent Creek, Va.; a sister, Violet P. Wheelen, of Danvers; seven grandchildren, Paula, Andrea, Bart, Richard, Julie, Orin and Christine; eight great-grandchildren, Briana, Corey, Melissa, Brittany, Courtney, Austin, Kyle and Michael; one great-great- grandson, Andre, two nieces, Joan and Linda, and numerous grandnieces and nephews. He also leaves his special family of caregivers at Nicholson's, whose loving care contributed so much to his final years. Pete was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Winthrop. There will be no visiting at this time, and services will be held at a later date in Danvers at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
