SIDNEY - Iris K. Clark, 85, of Lyons Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at her home. She was born in Presque Isle on Feb. 11, 1924, the daughter of Fay and Fern (Good) Parks. Iris was a member of the West River Road Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She attended the Second Baptist Church in Sidney, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She sang in the church choirs at both the Second Baptist Church and the West Sidney Baptist Church. Her interests included gardening, sewing and baking. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Clark, in 1973; and a brother, Roland Parks. She is survived by four daughters, Sylvia Lyon and her husband, David, of Sidney, Ellen Lifa of San Diego, Doreen King of Oakland and Beth Golding of Sidney; a sister, Ruth Gervais of Unity; 10 grandchildren, Scott Lyon, Stephanie Hippler, Michelle Lyon, Donna Robinson, Heather Lifa, Tanya Lifa, Joshua Lifa, Randy King, Amy Shearer and Jeremiah Golding; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a thank-you to Helen Poulin, who was Iris' caregiver and special friend. Visiting will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will occur in the Reynolds Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney Rescue Association, 2986 Middle Road, Sidney, ME 04330.
