WINTHROP - Leo Richard Dostie, 92, of Winthrop, died Tuesday March 27, 2007 at Central Maine Medical Center. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was born in Winthrop May 3, 1914 the son of Dolor and Eva Dostie , one of 15 children. Leo graduated from high school and worked for 16 years for the Town of Winthrop, Cemetery Department. He helped care for 5 cemeteries, sometimes working six and seven days a week. He worked at the town skating rink in the winter, seven days a week keeping the skating house warm for the children. After his retirement, Leo volunteered at the hot meals kitchen at St. Francis Xavier Church. He worked there for over 23 years until a recent illness. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Men?s Club. \r\r\n\r\r\nLeo was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Francis Dostie, Joseph Dostie, Cecelia Dostie, Mathilda Poulin, Rose Rouseau, two sisters both named Teresa Dostie, and Robert Dostie. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe is survived by a sister, Claire Rheaume, of Winthrop, brothers, Gerard Dostie, of Greene, Rosaire Dostie, of Greene, Joseph Dostie, of Florida, sisters, Dolores Keptchar, of Connecticut and Elizabeth Dostie, of Winthrop. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe will be sadly missed by his family and friends. May his journey be a happy one. May his great faith in God bring him much happiness in his new life with all the angels and saints and above all, our beautiful lady of many names. \r\r\n\r\r\nRelatives and friends may visit at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop Thursday 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Friday at 10:00am with the Reverend Brian Blanchette, celebrant. Spring burial will be in the Glenside Cemetery \r\r\n\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please donate for masses in his name.
