MARGERY HYATT BELLEMARE WINTHROP- Margery Hyatt Bellemare, age 92, became an angel on December 6, 2011. She was born July 18, 1919 in Melrose, Massachusetts, the daughter of Frank Herbert Hyatt, Sr. and Alice Anderson Hyatt. The family moved to Winthrop in 1922. Margery attended Winthrop High School and graduated in 1937 and then graduated from Gates Business College in 1942. She married Leopold G. Bellemare, Sr. on June 5, 1928 at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston. Margery was very interested in education and took several courses at UMA-Augusta and computer courses at Adult Education. She received a certificate from Dale Carnegie Course in March, 1994. She worked several years as an accountant for private industry and was a State of Maine retiree. She worked 20 years in the State Controller’s Office as an accountant. She was a member of many clubs and held many offices with these clubs. She was Legislative Chairman for the Maine Dioceses Council of Catholic Women’s Club and 2nd and 3rd State Vice President (MDCCW), Women’s Legislative Council of Maine, Elderhostel, NCCW, a member of the Maine Right to Life, American Life League, Greenpeace, and the Maine Association of Retirees. She is predeceased by her husband, Leopold G. Bellemare, Sr.; one brother and four sisters: Frank Hyatt, Jr., Alice McLaughlin, Alma Buckley, Theresa Goodson, and Marion Cobb. She is survived by her five sons, Leo Jr. and wife, Michelle, from Mt. Vernon, Daniel and his wife, Patricia, from Saco, Gerald and his predeceased wife, Alison, from East Winthrop, Gregory and his wife, Phyllis, from Florence, AZ and Robert from Florence, Arizona. She was blessed with granddaughters, Amy and her husband Jeffrey, Rebecca and her husband Jeremy, Cassie, Stacy, Sarah, and Heather and grandsons, Brian, Dana, Bradley, Robert, Gregory, Matthew, Morgan, Patrick, Michael, Blaine and Kirby; along with great-grandchildren, Skylar, Walter, Chloe, Kyliegh, Dakota, John, and Jarred. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Richard Hyatt of Warren, Ohio, Gladys Blanchard of Winthrop, and Mary Hall of Norcross, Georgia. Relatives and friends are invited to visit Friday, December 9, 2011, from the hours of 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Route 133, Winthrop, with Rev. Kevin J. Martin, Celebrant, followed by a committal service at Glenside Cemetery, Turkey Lane, Winthrop. Please join the family in continuing the celebration of her life at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall following the committal service.
