AUGUSTA -- Marjorie A. Ainslie, 72, of Summerhaven Road, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born in Augusta on June 4, 1939, the daughter of Eben and Gertrude (Smith) Dudley. \r\r\n\r\r\nMarjorie graduated from Cony High School in 1957, and had worked at Westinghouse Electric in Augusta for several years. A homemaker for most of her life, she was the family caretaker who looked out for everyone and anyone who needed help. She enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends, especially at their camp on Moxie Lake at the Forks. She has been a kidney transplant survivor for the last 18 years. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was predeceased by her siblings, Lillian Ladner, Lena Reed, Cecelia Farnham, Eben F. Dudley Jr., Robert Dudley, Madeline Charest, Donald Dudley, Norma Maxim and Shirley Tedeschi. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by her husband, John Ainslie, of Augusta; a son, John Ainslie, and his wife, Rhonda, of Sidney; two daughters, Vicki Mihalik, and her husband, Thomas, of Belgrade, and Susan Ainslie of Augusta; three sisters, Roberta Woodward of Sidney, Virginia Cloutier of Winthrop and Beverly Philbrick of Oakland; six grandchildren, Robert Somes III, Daniel Somes, Hannah Ainslie, Abigail Ainslie, Scott Mihalik and Alyssa Mihalik; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her cat Cecelia. \r\r\n\r\r\nVisiting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 25, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta, where a celebration of Marjorie's life will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Belgrade. \r\r\n\r\r\nThe family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on A1 and the ER at MaineGeneral for the care and compassion given to Marjorie during her stay there. \r\r\n\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation Serving New England, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062-5040; or the American Diabetes Association , 80 Elm St., Portland 04101. \r\r\n\r\r\nCondolences to the family may be sent to www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
