MOUNT VERNON - Rodney E. Carl, 36, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, in Mount Vernon as the result of an automobile accident. \r\r\nHe was born in Macedonia, Ohio, on May 3, 1968, the son of Robert E. and Lucy (Pinkham) Carl. He and his family moved to Maine when he was 2 years old, and he has lived here ever since. \r\r\nRodney attended school in Mount Vernon and was a 1986 graduate of Maranacook Community High School. He worked at Carleton Woolen Mills for 14 years until it closed. He then attended the University of Maine at Augusta, obtaining a degree in accounting. He went to work for the state Board of Nursing, where he was employed at the time of his death. \r\r\nRodney enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker, but really loved golf. He could be found playing at Cobbossee Colony every chance he had. \r\r\nMr. Carl was predeceased by his mother, Lucy Carl. \r\r\nHe is survived by his father, Robert E. Carl; his son, Hunter; three brothers, Russell Carl of Mount Vernon, Robert Carl and his wife, Lisa, of Watertown, N.Y., and Randall Carl and his wife, Christine, of Vienna; two sisters, Rhonda Cartlidge and her husband, Anthony, of China and Gayle Stratton and her husband, Hal, of Belgrade; along with many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all of his family. \r\r\nRelatives and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home.
