SIDNEY- Roy Albert Freudenberg, 60, of Sidney, died Wednesday January 3, 2007 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania May 28, 1946 the son of Albert and Mary Freudenberg. After growing up in Pittsburgh, he entered the United States Army, serving as a military policeman. Upon completion of his military service, Roy started to work for the U.S. Postal service. He worked in the South Boston Postal Center for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He moved to Sidney, Maine at that time. \r\r\n\r\r\nRoy loved to fish and work with his model railroads. He was a collector of World War II German memorabilia and enjoyed World War II re-enacting. He also enjoyed family gatherings. He was particularly fond of his dog, ?Pebbles.? \r\r\n\r\r\nMr. Freudenberg is survived by his wife, Darlene (Wing) Freudenberg; a son, Todd Wing, of Sidney; four daughters, Denise Freudenberg and her husband, Mark Svirtunas, of Hampden, NH, Tracy Sergi and her husband, Richard, of Lynn, MA, Tenny DiCarlo-Freudenberg and Christine DiCarlo; his uncle, Jean Paul Caron, of Sidney; four grandchildren, Cameron DiCarlo-Freudenberg, Christopher Sergi, Meghan Sergi and Nicole Reiner along with several cousins in Pittsburgh. \r\r\n\r\r\nRelatives and friends may visit at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street in Augusta Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00am. Burial will be at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road in Augusta on Monday at 10:00am.
