AUGUSTA—Steven L. Baker, 64, of Augusta, passed away on Saturday evening, October 7, 2023, at his home. He is now at peace resting in the arms of his family in heaven.\n\nHe was born in Augusta on August 12, 1959, the son of Lawrence F. and Annette F. (LaChance) Baker.\n\nSteve grew up in Manchester, Maine and attended Manchester Elementary School. He graduated from Maranacook High School in 1978. He started out as an auto mechanic and held several jobs in the Augusta area over the years. He loved to tinker with auto mechanics and was more than happy to help his family, friends and neighbors. As his mother aged, he then became her caretaker. After she passed, he always made sure she had flowers at her grave and left a wreath, that lit up at night, every winter.\n\nSteve was more of a homebody but loved to ride, whether it was in his truck, car or on his Harley. Steve has taken his last ride here on this earth, but now soars high in the heavenly skies with his brother, Rick. Steve is loved and missed by his family and friends.\n\nSteve is predeceased by his parents and his brother Rick Baker.
