AUBURN- Thaddeus F Hyatt, 91, of Auburn, ME died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home, with his daughter Ann Marie and son James at his bedside.\r\n\r\nHe was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 27, 1929. He was the son of Thaddeus J Hyatt and Elinor (Farren) Hyatt. He graduated from Rumsey Hall in CT, where he was active in sports. He then moved to Denver, CO where he worked for United Airlines as a ticket agent. That is where he met his wife, Arline (Knutson) Hyatt.\r\n\r\nHe was an active member at the Lutheran Churches in MN, CT & ME as the family moved east to be closer to the family “Camp” in Maine. The times he cherished most were summers at camp, especially with his children, grandchildren and family celebrations.\r\n\r\nHe enjoyed gardening, including building and cultivating compost bins for his famous "Black Gold” soil. He loved when anyone would join him to go strawberry and blueberry picking. His enthusiasm for driving brought him joy and the ability to attend the Maranacook High School basketball and soccer games.\r\n\r\nHe was predeceased by his wife Arline Hyatt, his sister Elinor Ault, Patricia Vosburgh and his parents.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his five children, son, Thaddeus K Hyatt his wife Heather and grandson Thaddeus W of Wayne, ME. His daughter AnnMarie (Hyatt) Stumpf her husband Richard Stumpf and granddaughter Ashley Stumpf and grandson Ryan Stumpf of N.Billerica, MA. His son James Hyatt of Auburn, ME. His daughter Dawn Hyatt and Barbara Holmes of Westminster, CA and his son John Hyatt of W.Forks, ME.\r\nTwo sisters, Ann Laporte and Penelopy Milton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\n\r\nA celebration of his life will be held in the summer of 2021.\r\n\r\nArrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, ME, where memories, condolences and photos may be shared the family on the obituary page of our website at www.familyfirstfh.com\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the charity of your choice.
